Dear Cyndy, Thank you for your letter. My thoughts about Deck House haven't changed; it's still my dream house, subject to the circumstance that I don't know what bankruptcy has done to the company or the quality of its products. If you don't hear from them, it's probably because they're desperately trying to get their heads above water. That may be a warning flag, but might also signal an opportunity for the prospective buyer. My real worries about Deck House is that you're hanging an albatross around your neck and that I'm helping you. I'm attaching to this e-mail what the lawyer's would call their work product. All documents should speak for themselves. The letter has been mailed; the draft is just that. I welcome all comments and criticisms. I agree that the propects of defeat are close to 100%, and I'm not stoking my soul with hope. But confronting failure is what life is all about. I won't be spending much time on letters until I get my draft out of the way. The deadline is October 15, - but I want to have it printed out much before then. I'm concerned about encountering printer or computer failure. Stay well and give my best to Ned. Jochen
