Dear Cyndy, Since Tuesday, I've been away from home 5 to 8 hours each day, keeping my sister company in her room at what used to be called Tufts-New England Medical Center, but has recently been renamed Tufts Medical Center. My sister's recovery was complicated first by an acute phosporus deficiency, which was identified and treated in a timely manner, and today by the onset of acute clostridium difficile diarrhea which in debilitated patients like my sister, entails a high mortality rate. I've spent the evening informing myself about this disease so as to be able to discuss diagnostic and treatment options with her physicians. Under the circumstances, I am unable to put my mind to anything else, hence the brevity of this letter. Please stay well and give my best to Ned. Jochen
