Dear Cyndy, Thank you for your letter. It's been a long time since I last sat down to write a letter and discovered that I didn't have much to say. Perhaps it's because of a touch of melancholy. I spent part of the afternoon painting the doors of our garage and the trim that surrounds them, a project neglected for too many years. Tomorrow I'll start painting the house, - by no means all of it, but the unsightly areas that are accessible from the ground or from a step ladder. On Tuesday, Klemens and I plan to go to Nantucket, just for the day, to check on the house, but now the forecast is for rain, and we may change our plans. On Monday, May 3, Margaret and I will set out for Konnarock. We have no idea how long we will stay. The decision of the appeals court, when it finally comes, may change our plans. Please give my regards to Ned. I hope you have begun enjoying the intimations of summer. Jochen
