Mommy tells me she thinks she will have her packing ready for us to leave for Konnarock tomorrow morning. I hope we have a chance to tell you good-bye before we go. If you agree, I would like, before we leave, for you to sign a check to transfer a substantial fraction of the liquid assets now held by Morgan Stanley in your Trust to the corresponding account at Cambridge Savings Bank. I have set up electronic transfer of funds between Cambridge Savings and Fidelity Investments, so that these funds will remain accessible to you by check when you need them. I assume that while we are away, you will, from day to day, empty our mailbox, to mow our law, and to clip our hedge as needed. I plan to take the scanner, the printer and the fax machine, as well as the documentation I might need for answering inquiries concerning the amended Virginia income tax returns which I filed for Margrit's estate. If and when the appeals court issues its decision, I will presumably receive an e-mail notice, but I would have to rely on you to fax or on Leah to read me the opinion so that I would have the opportunity for a timely response. My initial plan had been to come back from Konnarock in the third week of June, to see patients here and to attend to the banking and investment issues which will have matured. This morning, however, I feel anxious and uncertain. It is possible that we will return much sooner.
