The response from Nick Parsons was prompt. He and Buck Sheets arrived about 30 minutes ago to inspect the trees. Nick's opinion was that the damaged trees probably did not present an imminent threat to the house, but should be felled, and because they had to be felled in such a way as to fall down hill, the hillside below would require to be cleared as well. Accordingly much of the slope between the house and the Boys' School will need to be denuded to make feasible the removal of the damaged trees. Removal of the hedge at this time would be optional. Work on the tres at the north, west and south sides of the house is unrelated. Nick Parsons, now 68 years old, felt that the work would be too much for him, but promised to telephone acquaintances, (relatives?) who might be interested and who owned a tractor such as would be required to drag the logs to the road where they would be loaded on a truck. It appears that I will need to make decisions of some consequence, possibly within a day or two. I wish you and I could make these decisions together, but considering your other obligations, that seems impractical, and I'll do the best I can.
