This green 1997 Dodge Grand Caravan, 3012CA, was damaged about 1 year ago when hemlock needles and other debris were drawn into the heating system and caused the blower fan to burn out. The blower fan was replaced. At about the same time a rubber gasket around the front windshield peeled off and was not replaced. This summer the car was parked outside in the hot sun and pouring rain. Water accumulated inside and there was an extensive growth of mold covering the seats, the dashboard, the steering wheel and the carpets on the floor. I removed the moold with washing and vacuum cleaning as best I could. There is presently an accumulation of water in one of the vent compartments which needs to be drained. The leak, around the windshield and/or in the air intake of the heater, needs to be sealed. ALTHOUGH CLEANING THE CAR HAS NOT (YET) MADE ME SICK, PLEASE BE MINDFUL THAT THE MOLD, IF INHALED, MAY CAUSE DISEASE. Please telephone me at 617-484-8109 to give me an estimate before starting to work on the car. Ernst J. Meyer 174 School Street Belmont MA 02478 617-484-8109
