Dear Cyndy,

Thank you for your letter. My apologies for the impenetrable German.  I don't see, why you should want to bother with it; but if you do, there is a good German-English dictionary on the Internet: http://dict.leo.org/ which I find very useful.  Of course if you wanted to, you could always telephone me.  I could be your dictionary.  I've sent you a copy of another "German Lesson" for Nathaniel, not meant as a "lesson" for you. I'm not at all confident of Nathaniel's proficiency in the language; and I like to be understood, that's why I translate almost everything, - and given that it's all there in English, I "copied" it to you, thinking you might be interested.

For me, as you can imagine the compulsive immersion in Hoelderlin's poetry is an escape from ruminations about Mr. Ciarmataro.  I'm well satisfied with the present disposition of the case, which is presently dormant.  I don't want it to consume more of my mental energy.

Margaret and I have set July 6, as the date on which we set out for Belmont. What happens after that is anybody's guess.
