August 7, 2011 Dear Cyndy, Thank you for your letter. Last night at 10 p.m. we retunred from a strenuous but satisfying week on Nantucket. I was able to complete much, but not all of the electrical cosmesis that might be required to thwart the wiring inspector's cavils. I estimate that here are perhaps three more days' work for an 81 year old amateur. I don't know just when we'll go back for the finishing touches, of for that matter, in how much of a hurry I should be for the electrical inspection, since if I prevail in the plumbing issue, the wiring inspector may be less eager to give me a hard time. On Thursday evening, my cousin Marion is arriving in Boston on her way back from a holiday in France. She isn't required to be back in Minnesota until August 24th and will probably spend most of two weeks with us, - if she can stand me for so protracted a period. The rehearsals for Nathaniel's concert are from 6 to 9 on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Much of this afternoon I helped Nathaniel put together "sandwich boards" for advertising his performances. Rather than wearing the boards himself, he will place them in the median strip on Concord Avenue. I plan to record Friday's rehearsal, and will mail you a CD so that you can form your own judgment about what's going on. While on Nantucket, I took numerous additional photos of my plumbing, pictures which I am about to incorporate into a portfolio to show to one or more civil engineers who would have no reason to fear Mr. Ciarmataro's displeasure, and whom, if he seemed favorably inclined, I might pay to travel to Nantucket to for an independent inspection. I will keep you posted. Stay well, and give my best to Ned. Jochen * * * * * *
