Dear Mr. Esposito, Thank you for your interest in helping me with what I shall refer to as "formal questioning under oath." You ask, what else do I need. I will only be able to tell what else I need as I proceed. As you know, it's a sizeable plumbing installation that I put together on Nantucket. The Inspector's challenge is very sweeping. It's possible that the Court will require me to demonstrate in great detail the correctness of what I have done. I intend to proceed with my defense until I win or until my health or my money run out, and right now neither is a problem. I enjoy very much explaining in detail what's on my mind. But the "Formal Questioning" which we are considering would become dishonest if I told you what I want to hear. All I may communicate to you about what I need to know must be "on the record", and will be expressed in the questions I put to you in front of the microphone and the video camera. If you have specific questions now, please ask them. I will answer as fully as is consistent with the standard of integrity I set for myself. I must not tell you what I would like you to say. Please think it over. Tell me in an e-mail if you think I should start my preparations. You will have no obligations. You can always back out. I will keep you informed of my progress, and I should hope that within a week or two we could agree on a tentative date. Sincerely, Ernst Meyer
