December 20, 2011 Dear Cyndy, That the operation has finally become history would, if I put myself in your place, be a great relief. That it required only 15 minutes speaks well for the surgeon's technical facility. Your task now is to be content and satisfied, knowing that you will assimilate (to) whatever the future holds. Please keep me informed. The hearing last week was indeed very useful in that it revealed the deep, and perhaps incurable prejudice of the Court in favor of established governmental authority. The transparent absurdity of the Court's assertions: a) that registered engineers who are authorized to design plumbing installations are not qualified to evaluate that which they design. b) that the stamps or seals of registered engineers with which they are authorized to certify their work are in fact invalid, requiring additional affirmation by oath, and c) most incongruous, that only "opinion letters" of such registered engineers are permissible, and that yes or no answers to tightly reasoned questions such as are asked on direct or cross-examination at trial are not acceptable evidence in my case. More on this topic later, perhaps in my next letter. It's almost noon. I must go to confront the mechanic who repaired the left turn signal on my 1997 Dodge, with the circumstance that in so doing he disconnected the speedometer, fuel and temperature gauges and inquire how much he would charge to repair the damage he has wrought, - so that I can better assess whether it's better "to bear the ills we have than fly to others that we know not of." Then there's grocery shopping, and sometime before dark, retrieval of surveillance photos from Konnarock and Nantucket, and, while the mind is overflowing with gab, finding the time to write it all down on paper, - or rather into the computer file. I append various notes which I have e-mailed to Nathaniel, who is now vacationing next door and preparing for his Beethoven talk and concert. No substantial response so far. My very, very best wishes to you. Jochen * * * * * *
