Dear Cyndy, Just now, as I was wrestling with foolishly abstract issues of the relationship between ethics and knowledge - the assertion of Socrates that no man knowingly does wrong, cf. Sophocles' Oedipus, - I had an "inspiration" about the legal problem with your 20 acres of land subject to a Federal water conservation program, on which the government now wants to raise real estate taxes. Without knowing ANY details, it occurred to me that you might find it feasible to transfer the 20 acres to a charitable trust set up by you, and controlled by you, e.g. a wildlife sanctuary on which ALL trespassing was prohibited, and thereby create a situation which would entail payment of NO real estate taxes. It wouldn't not be necessary to explain to the authorities that the wildlife to be protected was Ned and yourself. If you want help, let me know. Jochen
