It's not the most brilliant of my legal efforts, but more than 
adequate for the plumbers who won't understand, no matter how eloquent.
I had anticipated days, if not weeks of work. I'm pleased to have
dispatched this obligation so quickly. We're off to Konnarock a day
later than planned, on Saturday morning. We'll arrive Sunday afternoon,
a day before Klemens, Laura and Leah. Rebekah is staying in Belmont.
A secretary at the plumbing board suggested a hearing date of June 7.
It's likely that Margaret and I will stay in Virginia until early in
June, then return for the hearing. Thereafter we may return to Virginia
for as much as 2 months. On August 29th, Judge Macdonald has scheduled
another status hearing for which we will surely be in Belmont.

Margaret and I are much aware of the ordinary difficulties of day-to-day
existence which Klemens, Laura and the four grandchildren encounter
now and in the future. We wish we could do more to help; but do our
best not to cause trouble. I've deliberately interrupted my writing
for the past two weeks. Perhaps when we're in Virginia, I'll find
the leisure to resume work on the novel.
