To shut down the computer,
press alt-ctrl-del

The when the computer has recyled,
press the "off" key on the telephone transponder.
Theres no harm in leaving the computer running
once alt-ctrl-del has been pressed.
The computer can the be turned off via telephone
by dialing 508-228-3868 and when three beeps are heard,
pressing 4 and thne pressing #

The camera at the well is still not working.
The camera at the bulkhead now shows only the north side
of the house with the outside staircase. It is also aimed too low.
Please readjust it by aiming the central axis of the camera
to train on a spot vertically about 40% of the height of the house,
from foundation wall to ridge of roof, and horizontally about
40% of the width of the house from north to south.

To check the images yourself: login as "meyer", passwd "Mut12z"
then type "startx" and when the X-window screen appears,
click on "Kview" and open "trans10a" (/usr0/meyer/trans10a)
There you will see the list of eight images;
open image A2 for the view toward the bulkhead
open image B3 for  the view from the pump

When the telephone switch is activated (as from telephoning
508-228-3868 and then pressing 4, then *, or pressing the "on"
button on the transponder onsite) the computer will come up,
first connecting to the Internet, then sending its IP address to
my website, then giving the login prompt on what the computer
refers to as tty01. (All this may take as long as five minutes.
 There are in fact six login prompts. One switches
between them using ctrl-alt-F1, ctrl-alt-F2, - through ctrl-alt-F6

Any one of the six login prompts can be used to start X-windows.
The prompt from which X-windows is started will be pre-empted
by X-windows, but one can switch from X-windows to any of the
remaining five available login prompts.

Assuming you have logged in as meyer passwd Mut12z and typed startx
to get X-windows in tty01, looked at the old images in trans10a with K-view,
you can then get a new set of images by typing ctrl-alt-F2. Login as meyer
passwd Mut12z, become superuser by typing "su" passwd "wurzel"
Then type "./vid" to start the picture taking, the first  video card will be activated.
Let it run for about 4 seconds, then type ctrl-C to switch to the second video
card. After 4 further seconds type ctrl-C again to stop the cameras.

If you initially called x-windows with startx, you return to X-windows
by typing ctrl-alt-F7
F7 (tty07) is the dedicated X-window channel..
If you've previously opened Kview to trans10a,
the newly taken images will be listed on the screen.
