Dear Janet, I hope that you are feeling much better. It's 5 p.m. now and Margaret has been asleep all day. The last time I gave her to drink she had difficulty swallowing and aspirated some of the cranberry juice. The pressure ulcer on her back is slightly worse and new ulcers, albeit small, are appearing on her buttocks. The skin over her ankles and heels is red, non-blanching and appears vulnerably to breakdown. Klemens who has taken on the task of trying to keep the skin ulcers under control, has given me his fleece boots, which I will try to put on Margaret's feet as soon as she wakes up. Inspite - or perhaps because - of the worsening of her condition, Margaret has become placid and serene. She moaned only transiently during the night; not at all so far today. Please remember that you are always welcome to visit Margaret for as long as you like, and to stay over as many nights as you wish. I will keep you informed of Margaret's condition. Love, Jochen
