September 18, 2015 3:00 p.m. Dear Janet, Alex, and Peter, At 7 p.m. last evening, when I last changed Margaret, the incipient ulceration of her buttocks seemed to be stable or slightly improved. I could not inspect the 3.5 x 2 cm pressure sore over her sacrum, because that lesion was covered with a semipermanent colloid dressing, not yet to be removed. The fleece boots had protected her ankles and heels against breakdown. She went to sleep shortly after 7 p.m. and has since been asleep soundly, for about 19 hours, motionless in bed without moaning or any other expression of discomfort. She has been breathing normally. I have not attempted to wake her. Love, Jochen
