Janet was here and sat beside Margaret's bed from about 10 a.m. to about 11 a.m. the while Margaret was soundly asleep. When Janet left she kissed Margaret on the forehead and said, "I'm Janet, your sister." If I heard correctly Margaret answered with a faint, barely audible "thank you", a distant echo of the considerateness and affection that characterized her life. Moments later, Margaret again seemed sound asleep. Last night she had about 4 oz of whole milk; she did not want to eat, and she has slept continuously for the past 20 hours. I have not tried to awaken her. I repeat my invitation to each of you to visit Margaret as often and as long as you like and to stay overnight for as many days or weeks as you wish.
