Dear Cyndy, Thank you for your letter. I've sent you copies of some e-mails which may give you an idea about what's going on.So far as I know the family has given up on a memorial service, which is probably just as well, since neither Klemens or I would be capable of participating. That's all I'm able to write about this subject. So far as the sonnets are concerned, there are 45 of them now, and they're not translatable. I don't suggest it, but the only way for me to make them accesible to you would be to read them with you over the telephone, and to explain word for word what I am trying to say. I don't think it's worth the effort. I'm far from recovering from Margaret's death, but I've found an emotional equilibrium which permits me to work, with the end, though perhaps just around the corner, not yet in sight. We'll keep in touch. Meanwhile best wishes to both of you. Jochen
