Dear Cyndy, Not having had an e-mail from you for some weeks or months, makes me express the hope that you have not been ill and that the absence of mail is merely an indicator that you have more pressing concerns. I've been in Virginia for three weeks, enjoying such solitude as never before, working on my writing, reflecting on my life, discovering the force of the past and the meaning of history. Klemens gave me a computer powerful enough to support voice recognition software which I've been using to dictate the pre-nuptial correspondence between Margaret and myself into text files so voluminous that they would fill 580 pages of printed books. What I'm learning about us is startling, interesting and edifying. Klemens has tentative plans to visit me in about 5 weeks. I will meet him at the Charlotte NC airport, we will drive to Konnarock, and after a few days, drive back to Belmont together. My plans for the rest of the summer are undefined, except that I will be in Boston for an appeals court hearing which will probably be scheduled in the first half of August. Please write to me at your convenience, and give my regards to Ned. Jochen
