The Hearing was very satisfactory. Mine was the next to the last case. I had the opportunity to listen to the three judges interrogate two assistant attorneys general concerning two criminal cases. The judges were not sympathetic with the government. I thought there might be hope for me. And with good reason. The judges were very friendly, smiled at me and I smiled back. At the end, the chief judge said, you have 15 seconds, do you have anything else to say, to which I replied. "I want to thank the Court for the opportunity to litigate. It was wonderful. I enjoyed it very much. I hope you will let me come back." Of course I mustn't count the chickens before they hatch. It's not unusual for judges to be very friendly to litigants to whom they must do injustice. Time will tell.
