I can't decipher the contradiction between "no term agreement"

                        and

I think this is a marketing trick. I think we WILL want to get Comcast
Internet if we manage to complete the house, but I would wait to commit 
myself to a Comcast agreement until after the Plumbing has been approved.
(Verbal assurances from the Nantucket Comcast office about anything
are unenforceable.)

Consider the humiliation if you can't find a plumber and, in addition to
everything else, have to pay Comcast as much as $74.95 a month for two
years (their standard condition which they claim will apply)
for service which you can't use.
