Dear Mrs. Martin, Thank you for your e-mail. It was good to hear from you. So far as your right eye is concerned, I have the following comments: 1) Years ago there was pressure elevation in the right eye. 2) With timolol 0.5% eye drops, the pressure in the eye became normal and has remained normal. 3) It is possible that the timolol is no longer necessary and that the pressure in the eye would not rise if the timolol were discontinued. 4) Timolol is harmless to the eye; however timolol drops are absorbed into the body and there are various diseases made worse by timolol. 5) If your doctor thinks it is advisable, you may discontinue the timolol and have the eye pressure checked at "appropriate" intervals to make sure that medication other than timolol is not required to control the pressure. If you have other questions please ask. Let me know if I can be of help. Best wishes! Sincerely, Ernst Meyer
