I've given further thought to summer plans: 1. I will make no plans until the Supreme Judicial Court has ruled on my application for Further Appellate Review. I can reasonably expect that ruling no later than March 15. 2. I believe a) that I can safely drive in daylight for at least 8 hours. b) that I can safely drive to Konnarock if I take 2 or more days. c) that I can safely drive to or from Charlotte to Konnarock. d) that I can safely drive in Europe. 3. What I will in fact do depends a) on my Supreme Judicial Court commitment, if any. b) on your wishes, such as they may be: i) to install the eight replacement windows in Belmont ii) to do the finish carpentry on the replacement windows iii) to drive me to and/or from Konnarock iv) to repair the pink bathroom in Konnarock v) to go to Europe for an appropriate length of time. 4. As I've said often enough, my highest priority is joint projects with you, whether in Belmont, Konnarock, Nantucket, or Europe. 5. I'm much aware of the extent of your other obligations, to Laura, to the children, and to your professional work. I will be happy and comfortable pursuing by myself the various projects, of which the most important to me is my writing. How much I will actually get done is another matter. I hope your work this afternoon is not too strenuous.
