Ross I: Did you contact EarthLink to replace the modem or did you purchase your own modem on your own? ernstmeyer@earthlink.net: I had a spare modem which I inherited from a relative and which I knew to be working. A complicating factor is that Verizon has refused for 5 months to provide phone service on 617-489-1043 urging me to abandon Earthlink in favor of their FiOS. I continue to receive AND PAY bill for 617-489-1043 because I want to keep the DSL Ross I: I see that there are no current problems with DSL Internet service from our end. If you are using your own modem, please try to setup the Internet using your EarthLink email address and password. Ross I: 1. Check all the physical connections to Modem and Computer to make sure that all the cables are plugged in properly. Ross I: 2. Check if the filters are working fine on your phone line in which it is connected. Ross I: 3. Try to check at another wall jack which has the same phone number. Ross I: 4. Remove all the filters and unplug all the phones that you have at your home, except the one which is connected to the DSL modem. Then, check if you get the DSL light On on your modem. Ross I: 5. If you still have the same issue please contact our Level 3 Support on 1-866-794-4371. Since we are in Level One Support we have tried what best we could try from our end hence requesting you to contact Level 3 Support for further help.
