Dear Judy Chambliss, Thank you for your e-mail. I very much look forward to a visit from yourself and Martha Hamilton on Monday October 16, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. In the event that you wish to change our plans, please feel free to do so, - I am unemployed and have no sc heduled professional commitments at all. At age 87, three weeks is a long time, and much that is unforeseeable might happen, but if it did, I'm sure you would understand. When you come, I will be wearing earphones to assist my failing ears. They're far from elegant, - I mean the earphones, the ears even less so, - but very effective in making conversation possible, and they are much more practical and much less expensive than the conventional miniature hearing aids. My chief concern is my habit of excessive talking; the circumstance that there is always much on my mind doesn't mean that it should all tumble out. I hope that you and Martha will have much to tell me. My ears and my brain need exercise and practice listening. I have three weeks to look forward to your visit! Best wishes, Jochen Meyer
