Dear Alex, I want to thank you very much for our recent telephone conversation, and for your sympathy and understanding of my medical situation. I discussed it with Klemens as we drove home from the airport at 12:30 a.m. this morning, and he did not object to my suggestion to postpone diagnosis and possible treatment until whatever ails me prevents my engaging in the activities (it's pretentious to call them "work") that presently pre-occupy and satisfy me, and to accept the risk that treatment later might be (much) less effective than if it were given now. After our telephone conversation I felt so much better that I asked myself whether to stay well, I really needed anything more than talking with you from time to time. Love, Jochen
