The driveway, sidewalk and front walk to the maibox have been shoveled and are usable. The remaining snow and ice will presumably melt within the next few days, with temperatures predicted to be in the thirties and low forties. The snow blower is in the garage. I had overlooked the need to monitor the pressures in the tubeless tires. In the course of the five years that we have been using the machine, the air had leaked out of both of the tires. I managed, using the small air compressor which I keep in the red car, to reinflate the left tire. However the bead of the right tire is not applied tightly to the rim of the wheel and will not retain air. This defect is correctabe by applying tire sealant to both inside and outside beads of the tire. This may be done a) by removing thr wheel from the machine and instilling sealant directly around the perimeter of both beads. Of course, once the wheel has been removed, it is easy to transport for repairs to "Turf Equipment". However, removing the wheel which is fastened not with a threaded nut but with a large, stiff clip, is easier said than done. Alternatively, b) one may buy a special core for the valve and a syringe with which the sealant in injected into the cavity of the tire - presumably to be forced into the path of the escaping air. Possibly one would need to purchase a pressure tank to provide an strong enough flow of air. My tentative plan is to confer with Turf Equipment about the most practical way to proceed. ========================== I'm aware that there is provision in Windows 10 for creating a Linux partition; I haven't considered making any changes in the machine with the voice recognition program, which you gave me, because I consider the existing Windows 10 software fragile and unreliable, and don't want to risk its presentn usefulness for me. Instead, I was planning to program with a Windows XP CD-Rom, a partition on one of the $10 250 GB hard drives that I bought from Microcenter. If I don't succeed, nothing will be lost. ========================== I hope your day was not too arduous.
