Dear Carolyn and Dear Ed, Thank you very much for getting the electric power restored to our house. The video surveillance is again function as it should. I leave the cutting of weeds (and flowers) which spring up at the foundation walls entirely to your discretion. I have never found it necessary, except to prevent vegetation from touching the wooden shingles. (I've been told that's how ants find their way into the house.) On all sides of the house are video cables tucked into the ground next to the foundation. It makes my life easier, if these cables are not accidentally cut; but if they are, no great harm is done, since they are inexpensive and I can easily replace them. Thank you again very much for your help! Jochen
