Dear Barbara, My recent correspondence with Micha reminds me that I have not answered your letter, for which, first of all, I want to thank you. Just as in face to face conversation I tend to be excessively loquacious, so in the exchange of letters, I tend to write too frequently and too much, witness my correspondence with Marion. I am convinced that we should stay in touch, e-mail being the efficient and accessible medium. I will try to find a golden mean, writing letters that are neither too long nor too short, neither so frequent as to be annoying, nor so delayed that the thread of communication is lost. Please feel free to write to me about whatever happens to be on your mind; I am inquisitive about nothing, but I am potentially interested in whatever you have to tell me. You may infer many of the secrets of my existence from my letters to Marion. In addition, I should be pleased to try to answer any questions that you might have. With regards and best wishes, also to Micha, Jochen
