After emptying my mailbox, I went to check on your mailbox and found it full. I removed the contents and placed them in your living room. At that juncture I noticed that 3 windows in your living room were unlatched and open about 1.5 inches, that 3 windows in the music room were unlatched and open about 1.5 inches, and that one window in the music room was open about 4 inches. This window I closed and latched because of the likelihood of water damage from a rain storm. The seven other windows which are open only slightly pose in my judgment little risk of rain water damage unless there were strong winds. Arguably an hypothetical burglar might infer from a house with closed windows in the summer that unless air-conditioned, it was unoccupied. Possibly, therefore, the windows should be left open and unlatched to mislead him. However, if I were the burglar I would vigorously and protractedly pound on the front door, and I would then take no answer as the answer and climb in through one of the open windows at the back not visible from the street and clean house. Please advise which of the following you wish me to do: a) nothing b) close and latch all windows in your living room and in the music room. c) inspect the windows in all other rooms and close them if they are open. d) empty your mailbox daily until you or Nathaniel return. If its not inconvenient, please tilt the axis of the camera in the northwest corner of the kitchen a few degrees down.
