In compliance with your wishes, I have not made the suggestion that we might be willing to sell 3 Red Barn Road (which is NOT the waterfront house of my dreams) for a price that would permit us to buy property which I would consider much more desirable, such as a waterfront house for example at Dionis, where there was no erosion. Please take your time to think about it, and let me know if you change your mind. == DRAFT == Dear Michael, With respect to our property at 3 Red Barn Road, you asked: "What type of property sharing arrangement might be something you would consider?" I have two suggestions, in the alternative: 1. Our completing our house and obtaining an occupancy permit as expeditiously as possible and thereupon leasing the house to you. 2. Our cooperating with you to make it possible for you to relocate your existing house to a section of our property, contractually protecting your legal interests as bailor in your relocated house, while limiting our legal liability as bailee for its care and protection. I have the following comments: 1. Suggestion 1) is the simpler. In completing the house we should be pleased to take into account your wishes with respect to interior doors, blinds and/or curtains, cabinets, flooring and tiling, as well as decks and landscaping outside. The terms of the lease, including its duration and the right to renewal would obviously be subject to negotiation. 2. Suggestion 2) entails various obscure and complex administrative and legal issues. It would require approval by the Town, the construction of a septic system and the drilling of a well. If this suggestion is of interest to you, I suggest initially we discuss it in a telephone conversation (617-548-5768), and I further respectfully suggest that you not incur any legal expenses unless and until we have reached a preliminary agreement about how to proceed. Best wishes, Ernst
