I don't know, what got me started, but as part of my projects of putting my affairs in order, I drafted two documents with which you can establish your claims to the successor trusteeship of 174 School Street and 20287 Coolgreen Road, if you decide to proceed on your own,and which will save your lawyer many hours of work if you decide to rely on a lawyer's help. So far as I am aware, there are no mistakes in the documents for School Street. With respect to Konnarock, I discovered that on October 27, 1994, I filed in the Washington County Registry of Deeds at 11:21 a.m., a revised trust for the Konnarock property which names Mommy as trustee. One minute later, at 11:22 a.m. I filed a deed purporting to name me as the trustee. Inasmuch as there was no dispute during Mommy life, and after her death I was the designated successor trustee, this mistake has no practical consequences. The mistake arose from my concern about the hypothetical legal liability for personal injury incurred by (Margrit's) visitors, with which I did not wish Mommy to be burdened. The documents which I have provided for you may be filed in the respective registries of deeds as soon as my death cetificate is available. I don't want to give you post mortem instructions, but you should know that I myself would not address the legal issue of the identity of the trustee until the imminent sale of the house or some other contingency made it necessary.
