a) letter to Tim b) letter to Alex c) New libretto: Lamentations (Klagelieder, Klagen), the relationship between mourning and lamenting, the brazen serpent phenomenon. Dear Tim: a) I'm pleased that the rest of your summer seems to have been enjoyable. b) Klemens and I would like you to complete your work at 3 Red Barn Road at your convenience. Please let me know when you wish to start, but please do not make ferry reservations until we have synchronized our plans. Please let me know what materials, if any, you wish me to provide. for tiling: grout, tiles, cement? for kitchen sink countertop: 3/4" plywood, linoleum, edging? c) what about tools? Do you need an electric jig saw to cut the hole for the kitchen sink into the plywood? =========== Klemens and I have made automobile ferry reservations to be in the house at 3 Red Barn Road from 12 noon on Saturday September 28, to 12 noon on Monday September 30. Neither of us can sleep on the floor. These reservations can be changed if we are notified in time. I am about to purchase four 31" wide bathroom "vanities" with built-in countertops and sinks, one 36" kitchen sink counter, to be fitted (by you) with a 3/4" plywood/linoleum counter top, and two toilets (bowls with tank). I will store these items in our garage and take to Nantucket on September 28 as many as will fit into our minivan, but perhaps not all of them. If you had room in your van, I could deliver to you in Stoughton (some of) the items for which we would not have space. Please let me know what other arrangements I should make. I don't need a written reply to this note; please telephone me 617-548-5768 at your convenience. Thank you, as always, for your help. Ernst
