a) Thank you for ALL your letters.

b) The issues raised in your letters are compelling to an extent that will provide us with a framework for conversation in writing or face to face for the foreseeable future.

c) The letters you have recently sent me are a reflection of the person you are. I consider them "real" literature, true and honest literature as I understand it. You have the opportunity to devote much time and energy, - perhaps the remaining decades of your life, to annotate, expand, summarize; perhaps even to contradict and rescind these expressions of who you are. But don't expect applause from anyone but myself.

d) My concern is that you avoid exhausting yourself, spiritually, intellectually, socially, physically, economically and/or financially.

e) I perceive you as a very generous person; I ask you not to give away, not
to dissipate:  your money, your time, your enthusiasm, your affections and/or your life. I ask you to preserve yourself.
