In the context of a possible consultation with Dr. Vesel, I have reviewed the recently drastically revised Massachusetts procedures for the issuance of death certificates which provide for the completion by hand of a DEATH CERTIFICATE MEDICAL CERTIFIER WORKSHEET (see attachment) which becomes the basis of an electronic certification by an authorized certifier as described in the following URL's https://www.mass.gov/service-details/vip-electronic-death-registration-system-edrs https://www.mass.gov/service-details/vip-edrs-for-medical-certifiers https://www.mass.gov/service-details/vip-edrs-for-families-not-working-with-a-funeral-home On reconsideration, I see no reason, why, absent unusual unanticipated circumstances, you should not be the person completing the DEATH CERTIFICATE MEDICAL CERTIFIER WORKSHEET, which could be printed out now, and which, when completed by you after my death, you could hand to the untertaker when he picks up the body for cremation. If I interpret the regulations correctly, you do NOT have to become an authorized certifier yourself.
