Thank you for the orchestrated 1st Movement. I've listned to it three times.  Each time I hear this music it grows on me. I like it very, very much, and I thank you for having written it. I've looked at an Internet reproduction of Der Mönch am Meer. The painting and the music complement each other.  Winckelmann extolled ancient Greek art with the words: "edle Einfalt und stille Größe (noble simplicity and silent grandeur). With respect to this music, one might paraphrase his praise, "Noble simplicity and melodious grandeur."
