I consider mathematical notation as shorthand for "I know something you don't 
know," or at best, I understand something of which I demand that you share my 
understanding, that you "understand" it in the same way that I do.
 
The imperative of mathematics is that we think alike and that our thoughts
become identical and indistinguishable. The imperative of mathematical
physics is that we "scientists" share, or pretend to share, identical
views of the world. That would mean the victory of objectivity. That
would mean the destruction of the subjective individual self, soul, spirit.
a project which is inherently impossible because at its end there would be
nothing left. It is a paradox what while objectivity, the objective view 
of the world has made the modern world and its technology possible, it 
threatens to suffocate individual subjectivity, if it has not already done so.
