The distinction between faith and the assertion of
ideological claims goes to the heart of Protestant
theology. The most primitive of all ideologies is the
assertion or denial of the existence of God.
Clearly if God does not exist, my assertion to the
contrary will nor serve to create him. If God does exist, my
denial will not destroy him, by definition will not impair
any aspect of his being.
As for the political problems about whichs ideological
assertions are commonly made: the ideology serves if anything
only to obscure the fact that these problems are inherently
insoluble.
